In my twenty-plus years of practice, whether I was an in-house lawyer or an outside law firm attorney, I have always thought of myself as a member of the business team providing sound legal advice versus a lawyer solely giving legal advice. A business lawyer must provide strategic advice to manage legal risk but at the same time recognize the complex business issues at play. While I enjoy working with start ups in all types of business, my practice includes health care products and services, international commercialization of products and services and building corporate compliance programs with particular focus on the Anti-Kickback Statute and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
I have represented both buyers and sellers in transactions ranging in size from $5 million to over $1 billion. I also have extensive international experience practicing in-house in Paris, France, negotiating and closing international acquisitions, licensing and development transactions and with unfortunate direct experience with the laws and regulations regarding Speedo requirements of French swimming pools.

I work with a range of clients from startups to late-stage ventures. I have helped companies with general corporate issues, including mergers and acquisitions, investment and securities issues, corporate formation and governance, and general commercial contracting. I also have an experienced practice with issues specific to technology companies, which range from technology licensing and strategies to privacy concerns. During my time as an attorney and financial analyst, I've completed numerous transactions for buy- and sell-side parties and many large technology transactions, including satellite purchases and OEM deals. I attempt to find efficient solutions to complex problems and to provide actual business ramifications with suggested solutions instead of simply covering potential legal concerns.
Outside of the law, I enjoy business strategy, technology and product development, and economics. My hobbies include climbing, skiing, jiu jitsu, hiking, writing, full-stack dev, and reading as much as possible. I believe that hobbies, interests, and work should collide and feed on each other for a better life in general.

I work with new businesses in all aspects of their early growth, from helping founders determine the best entity type to drafting the company's first round of financing. I help companies create create specialized contracts based on their specific needs, such as liability waivers, art licensing agreements, and white label agreements. My main priority is to ensure that my clients legal needs are taken care of quickly and efficiently, so that founders can spend more time doing what is important: growing their business.
